Component 7th Pay Commission 8th Pay Commission (Hypothetical)
Basic Pay ₹0.00 ₹0.00
Dearness Allowance (DA) ₹0.00 ₹0.00
House Rent Allowance (HRA) ₹0.00 ₹0.00
Transport Allowance (TA) ₹0.00 ₹0.00
Other Allowances ₹0.00 ₹0.00
Total Salary ₹0.00 ₹0.00

Salary Computation Method

This calculator uses the 7th Pay Commission Pay Level 8 as a basis for '8th Grade Pay' since the 8th Pay Commission has not been officially announced as of May 2025. The default Basic Pay is set to ₹47,600 (Pay Level 8 starting pay).

The total salary is calculated as follows:

Total Salary = Basic Pay + DA + HRA + Transport Allowance + Other Allowances

Components:

- Dearness Allowance (DA): DA Rate (%) × Basic Pay. Default DA Rate is 50% (as of 2025).

- House Rent Allowance (HRA): Depends on city category: 24% (Class X), 16% (Class Y), or 8% (Class Z) of Basic Pay.

- Transport Allowance (TA): Base TA + (DA Rate × Base TA). Default TA is ₹3,600 for metro cities.

- Other Allowances: Additional allowances like medical, special duty, etc., as applicable (default is ₹0).

Hypothetical 8th Pay Commission: For comparison, the calculator assumes a 15% increase in Basic Pay and a 5% increase in DA Rate. This is speculative and will be updated once the 8th Pay Commission is announced.

Note: The 8th Pay Commission is not yet official. This calculator will be updated once the 8th Pay Commission is announced by the Indian government.
