Convert your CGPA to a percentage with this simple calculator. Select a scale (4.0, 5.0, or 10.0) and enter your CGPA to get started. For the 10.0 scale, the CBSE formula is used by default.
For CBSE students on a 10.0 scale (default), this calculator converts your CGPA to a percentage using the official CBSE formula:
Percentage = CGPA × 9.5
Example: If your CGPA is 8.5 on a 10.0 scale, the percentage is 8.5 × 9.5 = 80.75%.
For other scales (4.0 or 5.0), the calculator uses a general formula: Percentage = (CGPA / Scale) × 100. For example, a CGPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale would be (3.2 / 4.0) × 100 = 80%.
The letter grade is determined based on the percentage using standard thresholds (e.g., 90-100% is A, 80-89.9% is B, etc.).
Note: The scale you select should match the grading system used by your institution. For example, many universities use a 4.0 or 5.0 scale, while CBSE uses a 10.0 scale.
CBSE uses a 10-point CGPA scale, and this calculator applies the official CBSE formula (Percentage = CGPA × 9.5) when the 10.0 scale is selected. For example, a CGPA of 9.0 would be 9.0 × 9.5 = 85.5%. If you’re using a different scale (4.0 or 5.0), the calculator will use the general formula mentioned above.
