How Final Grade Calculation Works

This calculator computes your final course grade using a weighted average of your assignment grades and final exam score. Click "Calculate" to see your results. The formula is:

Final Grade = Σ(Grade × Weight) / Total Weight

Example: If you have Assignment 1: 85% (weight 20%), Assignment 2: 90% (weight 30%), and Final Exam: 80% (weight 50%):

(85 × 20 + 90 × 30 + 80 × 50) / (20 + 30 + 50) = (1700 + 2700 + 4000) / 100 = 84%

Grading Scale

The letter grade is determined using this scale:

• A+ (≥96.5%), A (≥92.5%), A- (≥89.5%)
• B+ (≥86.5%), B (≥82.5%), B- (≥79.5%)
• C+ (≥76.5%), C (≥72.5%), C- (≥69.5%)
• D+ (≥66.5%), D (≥62.5%), D- (≥59.5%)
• F (<59.5%)

Note: Ensure the total weight sums to 100% for an accurate calculation. Grades must be between 0 and 100.
